Daying Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located near the Mapo village (E112°31′, N34°18′), about 3 km southwest to the Neibu town, Ruyang County, Henan Province (BGMRH(Hennan)P, 1997). Its name is firstly used by the Henan Geological Survey Team in 1964 in its unpublished reports. The Daying Fm used by BGMRH(Hennan)P (1989, 1997) is actually a series of Jurassic basalts, completely different from the “Daying Fm” used by Zheng et al. (1999). The Neogene “Daying Fm Zheng et al., 1999” should be abandoned, and the Neibu Fm is an appropriate substitute and should be revived, as suggested by Gao et al. (2014a).
Synonym: Neibu Fm
